Volunteer Program

Volunteers provide a valuable service to the staff and participants of The Johnson Adult Day Center and are essential to the adult day care team.  They assist the staff in meeting participant's social, physical and emotional needs while providing a vital link to the community.

Our volunteers assist and support participants in doing things for themselves.  This helps maintain participant independence and dignity.

Volunteers bring their unique talents and interests to enrich the lives of participants and the environment of The Johnson Center.  Volunteers share their talents in such areas as music, crafts, gardening, art, exercise and carpentry.  Volunteers join participants at the table for lunch and help clean up after meals or activities.

Because volunteers are so important to The Johnson Center, the staff works hard to provide the tools, training, ongoing evaluation and feedback necessary for a rewarding experience.  Volunteers are regularly recognized by participants and staff for a job well done.  The goal is to create a fun and rewarding experience where personal growth and friendships are inspired.  The Johnson Center welcomes volunteers from the young to the young-at-heart.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Center, please use the on-line form or call 303-789-1519 and ask for Maureen Flanigan, the Volunteer Coordinator.
