Activities and programs at the Johnson Adult Day
Program help many people slow loss of memory and enjoy an
improved quality of life. Registered nurses run the program and
monitor all participants for high quality medical oversight. The
professional, trained staff-- holding a ratio of one staff member
for every seven participants--ensures exceptional care and creative
stimulation.

Fun-filled good times are the order of
every day at JADP. Participants engage in activities
throughout the day that keep them moving while enhancing
socialization and stimulating brain power. Preserving mobility is
essential for optimal wellness and independence. Both client and
caregiver benefit (see our Participant Profiles for how
participants respond to our programs).
Exercises, walking, dancing and music are always on the
agenda (see us in action by checking out the Photo Gallery). Activities are
interspersed with short breaks-transition periods that allow
one-on-one interaction with staff, a chance to visit with a friend
or a "settling in" time before a change of activities.
Different Spaces - Different Needs
The Johnson Center has different activity rooms customized to meet the needs, interests
and the changing abilities of each participant. Lunch is served at
table settings in four of the specialized rooms. This provides a
unique continuum of care, optimal socialization and a day-to-day
flexibility of services for each participant, unparalleled in
Denver's adult day service industry. Activities are geared to
the participant's ability level, encouraging group participation,
socialization, maximum mobility, and an overall good time.
Daytrips are tailored for a
variety of abilities. Daytrips leave from JADP three
days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) in our own
JADP bus to enjoy lunch out at a restaurant and fun activities such
as museums, Active Minds lectures, gardens, and many other
historic, cultural, and scientific sites of interest throughout
Colorado, from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs.

It's Never 2 Late
JADP is proud to have a computer system called "It's Never 2
Late", an adaptive computer lab connecting seniors and caregivers
with technology, equipped with a touch screen monitor and
an oversized keyboard that is ideal for one-on-one or group
use. There is a simple ease-of-use e-mail program and those
with impairments can enjoy history, travel, television and radio
programs. We also employ it for research, entertainment, and
educational and memory games that our participants enjoy for great
brain stimulation. Knowledge of computer usage is not
required.
Memories in the Ma
king
JADP has an art class on Monday and Tuesday mornings that is a
part of the Alzheimer's Association "Memories in the
Making" program that meets two days a week for anyone who would
like to draw or paint. It is a great creative release for
participants to express themselves. Artwork from these
participants is framed and decorates the walls of our building.
Music at JADP
Music is very important at JADP. We do group singing every
day, and also employ our It's Never 2 Late computer program to
obtain music of all kinds off the internet. Each day after
lunch at about 2:00 p.m. we have professional musicians come in to
play and those who wish may dance. We have some fine dancers
here!
